Sunny Beach Bulgaria

I remember with pleasure our trip to Bulgaria to the Sunny Beaches. We didn't know if we can take vacation that year and when it was finaly approved we book the only vacation left to Bulgaria. We never regrat it, the water was perfectly warm, the beach sandy with golden beautiful sand, the hotel excelent with berautiful food and in the middle of city full of shops and attractions.

We left from the aiport Bratislava and landed in Burgas, then a bus was waiting for us and in 3 hours we were in the beautiful Sunny Beach and in front of our beautiful hotel, called Hotel Planeta.

The hotel was elegant and luxurios and perfectly clean, i could see cleaning ladies tiding cleaning non stop. Near the reception there was also an exchange office as Bulgaria does not use yet euro currency. We arrived late in the evening and we received as snack a sandwich, an orange and a bottle of mineral water. Then we were givent the key and we went to the our fourth floor and to our room.

We were pleasantly surprised, the room was spacious and clean, all in a nice shade of pink, our bed was large and confortable and even our child has a beautiful large bed for herself. We had a nice shower and went to bed. We were a little dissappointed with the view as our balcony was face to face with an abandonned building.

In the morning we went for breakfast and found the beautiful reception full of elegant chairs, also we realised the only thing we didn't like about the hotel, the elevators were not enough for the number of hosts in the hotel, the majority of the people went on the stairs. Also the restaurant was mosstly full, it was always hard to find a free table. However the food was a lot, and delicious, there was a lot of choices and our child likes the kiddie corner, where she always found pizzasand chiken wings and pancakes and spaghetti with tomatoe sauce.

The first thing we did after breakfast was to dress in the swimming pants and walk to the beautiful beach 200 m away from the hotel.  We found a very large beach, of golden and soft hot sand. There are wodden planks so you will not have to walk with our feet directly on the hot sand in the middle of the day. You could buy sunbeds, the beach is decorated with nice white umbrellas.

There was also the beach for people who wanted to sit directly on the sand. We had towels and the chuild was mostly in the water so there was no point in buying sunbeds. The sea was perfect, the water clean and warm and pleasant, of the blue greanish color.

The color of the water changes wonderfully depending on the sun, when the sun is shinning in its fullest, the water is a azzure color, the blue waves glistening in the sunshine. When the clouds gather and cover the sun the waves turn a beautiful green color and waves crashing on the sand are almost transparent. Also the entrance in the sea, the first 200 metters are beautifully blue green, then it changes immediatelly in a dark blue. We spend the whole morning in the water, our little girl jumping in the waves and and swimming, lauthing and playing in the sand, sitting in the wet sand and letting the waves wash over her feet.

In the distance you can see the shore long, long kilometters of beach, full of hotels and also green hills. The beach is always crowded, full of children playing, young people swiimimg, older people sunbathing. Beautiful motor boats and cruise ships are seen passing by.

After lunch we rested a little in our room and in the afternoon we went down to the swiiming pools. There was a large swimming pool and a small one for the children. Our little girl spend there many hours, swimming, diving, playing with her doll in the water, making friends with other girls, speaking with sign as they were speaking other languages. They used the little slides near the pool, also we ordered many refreshing drinks from the bar and snacks. We rested on the sunbeds and swan again in the children's pool.

Every evening around the pool there were programs for children adn adults. There was mini disco every night, children could dance and receive nicely shaped ballons.

We spend our days on the beach or at the pool, however we also took long walks around the beach and the city, visiting  the shops, some with souveniers, towels, trinkets, toys and ofcourse food. We found delicious wafers and we ate them every day, i am sorry we don't remember what their name was, but our favourite was the strawberry ones.

The whole town is full of colorful shops, restaurants of all types from MacDonalds and burgers and KFC to the more elegant and delicious cooked meals. The evenings are loud and full of color, there is a russian wheel and other games, grills all over the place, the shops and streets are full of people lauthing and speaking, couples taking romantic walks on the promotory.
